Lost
Alanna Zhang
I drift, wander.
I have no destination,
No beginning and no end.
I’ve nowhere to go,
No place to stay.
I’m all alone,
A lost feather or leaf.
But I have no nest, no tree,
No place to call home.
I float along with the breeze,
Going nowhere, it seems.
I simply exist,
Without purpose or use,
I am no one’s muse.
My dreams and beliefs all seem to be lost,
My sight seems veiled with frost.
I can neither see nor be,
Nobody and nothing.
The world teaches all,
But I have no call.
Is it possible for my voice to be heard,
In a world where the lines are so blurred?
Can I really rise up,
and fill my empty cup?
I don’t wish to undo all wrong,
I just want a place to belong.
