Two Boys Dancing Together
Hannah Norby
They have everyone's attention
All eyes on them as they wheel around the room
To them it doesn't seem so extraordinary
Not worth all the fuss
The old folks look on in disgust
Disapproval stains their faces
'Kids these days, kids these days
Whole world's gone insane.'
But the boys don't pay them any mind
They're far too happy to be caring
Simply waltzing to a cheerful song
Arm on shoulder, hand on hip, eye to eye
They know that they'll regret this
That they've crossed the uncrossable line
Child's play has become too brave
Retribution has to come sometime
But it won't come now
For now they're simply dancing
Smiling as they move together
As they read each other's eyes
Such an easy thing
Two boys dancing together
So beautiful and so benign
It won't be allowed to stand
They'll put a stop to it, the old folks will
As soon as this song is over
As soon as this song is over
