Entry Rules: |
1. One winner from each library will be chosen in the following categories:
Grades 6-8 (middle school)
Grades 9-12 (high school) |
2. Submit up to three original poems that are no longer than 30 lines. |
3. All poems must be printed neatly or typed. Make sure it is legible. |
4. Submitted poems will not be returned. |
5. Poems may be submitted with the entry form in person at each library, or by using our Online Submittal Form. (Please note, if the shape of your poem is essential to its meaning turn in a paper copy. The electronic copy will distort the shape.) The last day to submit your entries is April 30, 2010. |
6. A panel of independent judges will judge all poems. |
7. Poems will be judged by grade level, original content, style, vocabulary, and creative expression. |
8. Winners will receive a $25.00 cash prize. |

10. By entering your poem, you give us permission to post or publish your poem online or in the library. |
11. Winners will be contacted by phone or email by May 30, 2010. |
12. Attach the completed entry form below to your poem before submitting it for the contest. Poems without the form will not be considered. |
