Hans
Christian Anderson, the author of over 150 fairy tales
was born April 2, 1805 in Odense,
Denmark. He published his first four fairytales in 1835. He traveled
all over Europe and met Charles Dickens, Felix Mendelsohn,
and
the Brothers Grimm. On August 4, 1875, he died at the age of
70.
His
books have become timeless treasures that have been translated
into over 100 languages delighting children and adults throughout
the world.
