The Gilroy Library is Moving!

GILROY
LIBRARY
is Moving Downtown

The Library will be closed starting Wednesday, December 2, 2009

We will reopen in mid to late January 2010
at the temporary location:

7652 Monterey Street, Gilroy

WHY THE MOVE?
In 2008, the citizens of Gilroy voted to build a new library. During construction, the library will move to a temporary site downtown for about 2 years.

HOLDS
Holds that arrive at Gilroy Library for you while we are closed will be sent to Morgan Hill Library for pickup. You may also choose to do the following:

  • Change the pickup location of your hold to another Santa Clara County library.
  • Make your holds inactive. You will keep your place on the hold queue. Reactivate your hold when the library reopens.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Stock up on library materials before we close. Most items borrowed just prior to the move will be due in February 2010. You will enjoy an extended loan period. The library will benefit by having fewer books to move!

RETURNS
Returns will be accepted at our current location until closing time on Tuesday, December 1st. Between December 2nd and the reopening of the library at the temporary facility, return items to Morgan Hill Library or Bookmobile or keep them at home.

BOOKMOBILE
Bookmobile has regular stops in South County.  (408) 293-2326 ext. 3060
