Have fun this summer! Read Books!
Summer Reading Club is a free program for children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. Come to the Children’s Desk and get a sign-up form. We’ll give you a reading record and you’ll be on your way to the pleasure of books.
Gilroy Library Thursday SRC Programs For Kids
3:30-4:30 p.m.
June 21 – Dave Keane, author of the Joe Sherlock mysteries, will talk about being a children’s author. He will also award the winner of the Backpack Mystery.
June 28 – Fingerprinting – Come learn about the uniqueness of your fingerprints.Make fingerprint art, too.
July 5 – Mystery Hunt – Can you be a library detective? Can you and your friends answer all the questions that have you searching everywhere in the library?
July 12 – The Humane Society will present Animal Care 101.Why does your cat scratch? Is your dog happy? Meet a certified and trained dog.
July 19 – Secret Codes - Learn different ways of communicating with friends.
July 26 – Puppet Shows – The Case of the Disappearing Books, The Mysterious Egg, and The Case of the Two Masked Robbers will be performed for your enjoyment.
Aug. 2 – Puzzle Program – Tangrams can be rather puzzling. Can you solve the mystery?
Aug. 9 – Origami – Take a piece of paper, follow the directions, and you will have… That’s the mystery!
Aug. 16 – Grand Finale – Have you read 8 books this summer? Come to the story room anytime between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. and pick out your free paperback. (Our thanks to the Friends of Gilroy Library for donating the funds to buy the books.)
Children's Storytimes
Each storytime is 30 minutes in length.
No sign-ups required.
Tuesdays at 7 p.m. — Families involved. Wear your pajamas, if you want.
Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. — For ages 3 to 5.
