Gilroy Library Proctoring Policy

The Gilroy Library will accept open book tests for you under the following conditions:

  • You handle all arrangements for having testing materials sent to the Library.
  • You notify the Library Information Desk by telephone or in person that the test is coming.
  • Tests may be mailed to the Library up to one month before you are scheduled to take it. Any unclaimed test will be discarded after one month.
  • Tests may be taken during regular library hours. We will not provide a special space or room for your use. You must bring all your own supplies.
  • You are on your honor to follow the rules of the test.
  • You keep track of your own time.
  • Any librarian at the Information Desk may sign and stamp your papers when you finish. His or her signature on the test means only that someone came to the Library – we do not check identification nor do we proctor.
  • You mail the tests back to the school yourself. We are not responsible for any completed tests that are left at the Library.
  • If you or your school needs a more structured environment for testing, some real estate boards may monitor exams for their members. Special arrangements can be handled through your school.
