Gilroy Housing and Shelter


  • The Armory (operated by the Emergency Housing Consortium):

    8490 Wren Avenue, Gilroy. The Armory is open for the shelter needs of individuals during colder winter months. This facility opens the last Monday in November and closes at the end of March.

  • Emergency Housing Consortium:

    30 Roosevelt Avenue, San Martin; (408) 686-1300. Emergency housing for families only at John H. Boccardo Family Living Center.

  • I.O.O.F. Family Services/Rebekah Children's Services:

  • Project Sentinel Gilroy Office:

    Educates and counsels housing consumers and members of the housing industry on their rights and responsibilities. They also offer alternative dispute resolution services and investigate allegations of housing discrimination.

  • St. Joseph's Family Center:

    7950 Church Street, Gilroy; (408) 842-6662. In emergency situations St. Joseph's will provide vouchers for one or two night stays in a local motel and will also provide some food and clothing.

  • Santa Clara County Information and Referral Database:

    This is a collaborative on-line services directory developed by Santa Cruz County Children and Families Commission, Santa Clara County, and Community Technology Alliance.

    The site provides information on food, employment, housing, health, senior issues, youth, emergency services, and human services agencies in both Santa Clara County and Santa Cruz County.

    Housing and housing referral information is searchable for both counties from the above link to the SCCIRD site.
