Library
Tours and Class Visits to the Library:
Librarians
conduct tours of the library for class visits, groups, and clubs, by appointment
and during open hours.
These
tours, designed for six or more persons, include instructions on how to use the
many resources available at the library, as well as tips on how to locate items
and where to go for information.
Our
librarians can tailor your visit to any particular interests your group may have.
For more information about library tours, or to make an appointment for your group
visit, please contact the library during open hours.
Rural
Scribe Writing Project:
An
outgrowth of Silicon Valley Reads 2005, local writers submitted memoirs about
living or growing up in a rural area to the Santa Clara County Library's Rural
Scribe Writing Contest.
Silicon
Valley Reads:
An
annual County-wide event, Silicon
Valley Reads is designed to promote reading and literacy, broaden exposure
to and appreciation of good literature, and build community.
Summer
Reading Clubs:
See
our Gilroy Library Summer Reading Clubs page for more
information on Adult, Teen, and Children's Summer Reading Clubs.
Book Sales:
The
Friends of Gilroy Library are supported by donations and proceeds of the sale of books. There is a small selection of books available for purchase at the very entrance to the library.
Open
Poetry Readings: The
Garlicky Group of Poets hosts an open poetry reading where you can read your own poetry or to listen to their new verse. Contact
Ed Nauss at (408) 779-4999 for more information.
