新版館藏目錄的優點是幫助您查到更多的資訊與提供更多個人化的服務，歡迎讀者踴躍使用。

新版館藏目錄查詢《新到中文館藏》的簡易步驟如下:

• 在本館首頁點擊「Catalog and My Account」(館藏目錄及我的帳戶)，然後在「Search the Catalog」(查詢館藏目錄)下選擊Search the New Catalog(查詢新版館藏目錄)或直接輸入網址http://sccl.bibliocommons.com
• 進入新版館藏目錄後，在上方「Keyword」(關鍵字)的查詢方框中輸入英文字詞: Chinese Fiction (中文小說) ，再點擊「Search」(查詢) ，搜尋所有可能相關的中文小說的列表，接著再以左上方「Narrow Results」(縮窄結果)下方的「Format/Location/Audience/Acquired-Anytime」及「By topic」設限選項來減縮查詢範圍。例如要最近一週、一個月或半年的小說，就可以用Acquired-Anytime裡的選項 – Past 7 days/Past 30 days/Past 6 months加上By topic下的Chinese fiction來打造您要的結果。[查詢提要: 設限條件給越多，查詢結果就越精細。]  
• 用同樣的步驟也可輕易查詢新到的中文非小說(請輸入英文字詞: Chinese Non-fiction或Chinese nonfiction) 、中文影碟 (請輸入英文字詞: Chinese DVDs或DVD-Video Discs Chinese) 、中文音樂光碟 (請輸入英文字詞: Chinese Popular Music) 及中文兒童資料 (請輸入英文字詞: Chinese Language Readers) 。 [查詢提要: 英文字詞輸入大小寫不拘，標點符號輸入與否、英文字詞前後順序，都不影響查詢結果。]
• 除了上述快捷查詢中文館藏的小撇步外，您也可嘗試用「Advanced Search」(進階查詢) 或「New Titles」(新書目錄)來查詢《新到中文館藏》。
• 您可隨時輕鬆的在網上預約、續借及檢視您個人的借閱記錄。
• 新版館藏目錄還可讓您為閱覽後的館藏，給予星號評等或抒發您的評語，藉以和大家分享及交流閱覽心得。這些編輯內容您亦可設定為公開或私人保有。
• 新、舊版館藏目錄最大的不同在於，除了英文外，您現在也可在新版館藏目錄的查詢方框中，直接輸入繁體中文或簡體中文來做查詢。
• 新、舊版可隨時互相切換頁面，點擊新版頁面下的”Former Catalog”切換到舊版目錄，或按一下舊版目錄基本查詢(Basic Search)下的快速連結http://sccl.bibliocommons.com/即可轉換至新版目錄。

• 在本館首頁左方「Quick Links」(快速連結)下方點擊"中文資訊"。
• 進入中文資訊頁之後，請直接點選右列下拉視窗下的資料表單來瀏覽及選取中文館藏，這些表單是依據資料類型及時間範圍所編列而成。
• 您也可經由舊版館藏目錄查詢的「Basic Search」(基本查詢)頁，點選右上方的Best Seller & Other Lists(暢銷書及其他列表)，再將滑鼠下移至「Other Lists Chinese」(其他列表-中文)處或直接在查詢方框中輸「Other Lists」，接著就可以點選資料類型表單、進行查詢及線上預約中文《新到中文館藏》。

We cordially welcome you to the SCCL Chinese Information page. Our diversified Chinese collections include books, newspapers & magazines, videos& DVDs, music CDs, talking books, and the newly added Chinese E-Resources including Chinese E-Magazines and Chinese E-Books.

All of the Chinese collections can be retrieved through the new catalog (Search the New Catalog) and the former catalog (Search the Former Catalog). The items are all cataloged using Hanyu Pinyin together with traditional Chinese or simplified Chinese. (Please click Hanyu Pinyin Guide and the Conversion Tables of Chinese Phonetic Symbols and Pinyin for further details.) Both library catalogs allow you to access our Chinese collections efficiently. However, the new library catalog not only maximizes your retrieval results but also provides more personalized services. We encourage you to use the new catalog to meet your custom needs.

The following are instructions for using the new library catalog to retrieve the new Chinese collections:

• At the library home page, click on "Catalog and My Account," and then click on "Search the New Catalog," which is under the category titled, "Search the Catalog." Or, directly key in the URL address as: http://sccl.bibliocommons.com/

• Once you arrive at the main page of the new catalog, key in the English phrase Chinese fiction in the top Keyword search box. Then, click on the “Search” button to retrieve all of the Chinese fiction items. Under the heading, "Narrow Results," which is in the top left section of the page, select such restrictive options as Format/Location/Audience/Acquired-Anytime together with “By topic” to narrow down your search results. For example, the fiction items bought within the last 7 days/30 days/six months can be retrieved by selecting the different acquired time options plus a topics such as “Chinese fiction” under “by topic” to meet your search target.  [Search tip: The more restrictive options you use, the more refined your results will be.]

• Likewise, the newly purchased Chinese non-fiction items can be retrieved by keying in the English phrase Chinese Non-fiction or Chinese nonfiction into the Keyword search box. Key in the English phrase Chinese DVDs or DVD-Video discs Chinese for Chinese DVDs; Chinese popular music for Chinese music CDs and Chinese language readers for children’s Chinese materials. [Search tip: When keying in English phrases, capitalization, punctuation, and word order will not impact the search results.]

• Besides using the above-mentioned simple search strategy, you may also use such features as “Advanced Search” or “New Arrivals” to access new Chinese items.
  
  
• All functions such as placing holds, renewing items and checking your account can be conducted effectively in the new catalog.

• Now, you may also voice your opinion by giving star ratings and adding comments to library item pages. Share your recommendations, ideas, and thoughts with other patrons. Feel free to make your comments public or private.

• The biggest difference between the former catalog and the new catalog is language input. Now, with the new catalog, you may use either the traditional Chinese or simplified Chinese (as well as English) to conduct your search for the Chinese items. Both versions can be interchanged when conducting your catalog search.

If you prefer to use the Former Catalog to find Chinese materials, please do the following:

• At the library home page, click on “中文資訊” (Chinese Information), which is located under the Quick Links heading.  

• This will bring you to the Chinese Information homepage. Please choose your desired genre or date categories from the right-side dropdown menus. Then, click on the titles of items you desire from the list.

• Or, you can achieve the same results by following another path. Go to the Basic Search page, click on "Best Sellers & Other Lists" from the menu at top. Then, click on the link titled, "Next 20 Best Seller List" until you arrive at the page containing links to Chinese lists. You may also key in “other lists Chinese” in the search box to arrive at this page. Click on a list title to go to the list page and view its items.
